DEATH: DORATHA B. COOK

Doratha Beardall Cook, 82, passed away January 1, 1994 at her Sandy home with her family around her.
Born December 1, 1911 in Springville, Utah to Alvin Romanzo and Sarah Leota Scott Beardall. She married Laurel Chauncey Cook January 5, 1935 in Midvale, Utah. Marriage sealed January 8, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 9, 1974.Active in the Relief Society as second counselor, visiting teacher for over 40 years, worked in the Salt Lake and Jordan River LDS Temples as an ordinance worker. She was a care giver and always had a smile. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
She is survived by son, Alvin Curtis Cook and Pat; daughter-in-law, Maureen Cook, all of Sandy; daughters, LaVon Brusnahan, Marilyn and George Morris, Salt Lake; Susan and Mike Eaton, Salt Lake; Beverly and Jerry Bloodworth, Kearns; Valerie and James Oviatt of Wasilla, Alaska; 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ray A. of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Melvin and Scott, both of Springville, Utah; Donald of Spanish Fork, Utah; sisters, Leota Cox, Leola Hamam, Ida Hardy, all of Springville, Utah; Jeanett Jones of Payson, Utah.
Preceded in death by sister, Jean Merriweather; brother, Orin; and son, David Laurel.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 1994, 12 noon at the Midvalley 8th LDS Ward Chapel, 8060 South 615 East. Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 9th East, and Wednesday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery, 7800 South 1300 West.
